Dr. Vijaya Polavaram, Raleigh, North Carolina - 2024-25

This is Dr .Vijaya Polavaram . I am an Internist and Hair transplantation surgeon by profession currently enrolled in s2s course at P1 level which is Pragata Sambhashanam.

As you all know it is  the primary language  used  in our ancient literature. And I  practically see it as  the mother of all languages when I interact with all the international patients on a daily basis .

I have joined this course with the  hope of better understand what I read and chant on a daily basis as a Hindu which makes more meaningful for me , also I aspire to start my journey to master all the 700 slokas of Manuscript of Universe from Lord Krishna THE BHAGAVATH GITA.  I am proud to say I am getting nearer to that goal  as I am advancing my learning .

Few words  on curriculum : It is well structured to learn and advance  as we are passing through the  syllabus and meeting the  needs of the  students and be ready  for the next level .

Teaching methods : I miss words to say  what else can be done . All the  teachers  are volunteers  yet  they take utmost responsibility to revise  and refresh for those who needs  and  they are   always  available to answer the students for any kind of help . The classes  are  distributed  throughout the  week for the  convenience of  working adults  and  can choose  to attend  the  classes  at their convenient slots . Every class is  structured  with prayer, revision from where we left in the previous class, new subject and  and always ending with prayer and Q/A.

Assignments: Course carries well designed assignments challenging what we they had learnt from previous class and eventually prepares the students to be ready  for the  final exam and to get through.

Overall  I am more than happy to be enrolled  and learning and becoming more knowledgeable in this divine asset and continue  to advance. I feel I had started this long ago , yet I am happy to say better late than never .

Respectful Salutations!  I am Vinayak from Portland, a student of the s2s S3 level. I would like to share a few reflections based on my experience in the s2s courses.

In my opinion, the primary contributors to the success of the s2s courses are the teachers who teach here. Their dedication to understanding the subject matter, teaching, punctuality, and practice is commendable. The teachers conduct every class in Sanskrit, which indirectly establishes conversational elements among us.

Another key aspect of the s2s courses is the study materials used for teaching. The PPT presentations, notes, Google Forms for comprehensive assessment, and homework assigned for each class are immensely beneficial for the students. These courses also prioritize conversation skills, and marks are awarded in exams for conversation proficiency. For this purpose, teachers and assistant teachers prepare students for conversations either before the class or individually.

In this way, through grammar, conversation, and instilling curiosity about language, the s2s courses comprehensively enhance the language skills of students. I firmly believe in their effectiveness.

Vidya Sridharan - 2024-25

I am Vidya Sridharan, a student of S2s - s2 class (2024-25).

I am learning Sanskrit for the last 2 years. I knew to write and read but I had not learnt sanskrit in school days. So it has been difficult to  understand.

The slight differences which changes vachanas and vibhaktis are hard to remember . Still language is beautiful and fun to learn.  My goal is to understands shlokas better. Hopefully, I will reach the goal  one day but not their yet.

The courses are well designed and teachers are excellent but lot of things to remember, so I find it hard .

The homework assignments challenged me, but I was happy they were like that. That is the only way we can learn

All in all, these are good courses, I encourage anyone who is interested in Sanskrit to take these courses.

Learning Sanskrit through s2s course has been a truly enriching and rewarding experience. The study materials are well-structured, clear, and incredibly helpful. The classroom experience is engaging and interactive, making every lesson enjoyable. The homework assignments offered are interesting  and challenging.

Teachers are exceptionally knowledgeable and patient. They respond to every query with care, and gently correct mistakes in a way that encourages growth.

This course has not only deepened my understanding of Sanskrit but also sparked a genuine love for learning it. I feel deeply grateful to be part of this journey.
